The Red Rose Transit Authority (RRTA) operates public bus transportation. Throughout Lancaster City and Lancaster County.  Their mission is to provide effective transportation services to the citizens of Lancaster County. And to perform these services at the highest standards of safety. Also courtesy and efficiency. RRTA maintains a code of conduct for its passengers. Including no rude or profane language or behavior. In addition, no eating, drinking or smoking on the bus. And requiring small children to stay with their parents, among others.  Buses are equipped with security cameras and automatic vehicle location technology. To improve safety and security. Drivers have the authority to remove passengers who will not observe appropriate behavior.

Bus Fares

Bus fares range from $1.70 to $2.90. It depends on the travel zone.  The RRTA strives to make public transit affordable for everyone. Discounted fares are available for students. Half-fare discounts are available for people with disabilities.  If you are age 65 or older, you can ride RRTA for free. This is through the Senior Free Ride Program. All you need is a Pennsylvania Senior Transit identification card!
