Manheim Central School District
The Manheim Central School District is a preferred, smaller school district that serves three communities: the Borough of Manheim, the Township of Penn and the Township of Rapho. The student population for the district as a whole is just under 3,000 students. The Superintendent of Schools runs the school district and a nine-member Board of Directors appoints them. Also, these members have four-year terms.
The mission of the school district is to prepare responsible citizens who are lifelong learners. So, the school board, administration, teachers, parents, students, and community work together to ensure that students gain appropriate academic, technical, and life skills to reach their individual potential. And all within a safe and nurturing environment.
The district as a whole shows strong performance, with a “B+” rating from the Niche.com. In addition, according to state testing, 55% of the students are proficient in math and 70% in reading. The school district offers a gifted program and, at the high school level, Advanced Placement courses.
