Hamilton Park first came to be in the 1920s, when employees of Hamilton Watch Co. began settling in the area. Although the original watch factory now houses offices, condominiums, and The New School of Lancaster, Hamilton Park remains the quiet, restful neighborhood it was intended to be. Construction of new homes continued in this area until the 1950s, and each decade brought a unique architectural style to the community. From Colonial Revivals to Craftsman Bungalows, every home is historically beautiful, and they often include brick exteriors and hardwood interiors—a combination that’s hard to beat. 

The average price of a home in Hamilton Park ranges from $195,000 to $305,000, but there are some exceptions listing well under and over the average. This is due to the rich history of the community which spans a wide range of time periods and styles. For many, that means there is more flexibility in finding their perfect home in this coveted neighborhood.

Nestled on the west side of Lancaster City, Hamilton Park is in the School District of Lancaster (SDoL), which offers award-winning arts programs and extensive career training. SDoL is also one of only 13 school districts in Pennsylvania to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma. This program is designed to challenge students to excel in their studies, encouraging both personal and academic achievement.

The neighborhood has no shortage of both necessities and luxuries. Residents are just a short drive to grocery stores like Wegmans and Giant. Only 1-2 miles away is Lancaster’s Park City Mall as well as Downtown Lancaster’s many shops, lively nightlife, restaurants, art galleries, and local gems like Lancaster Central Market. Hamilton Park is also a few minutes from local favorites like Copper Cup Coffee, Chestnut Hill Cafe, and Spring House Brewing Company, which add to its appeal as an excellent neighborhood to settle in and call home.
